Off Road Speedway Norfolk, NE (June 23, 2018)—Off Road Speedway never disappoints when you bring 24 drivers to tackle the semi-banked 1/3 mile facility in northeast Nebraska. It was a night of slide jobs as Jody Rosenboom prevailed over two-time winner, Jack Dover, to capture his first Nebraska 360/MSTS win of the year!
“If you don’t like that kind of racing, you don’t like racing right there! My hats off to Jack Dover, what a clean race-car driver, what a great race car driver! You guys saw a show because of how good he is. I can’t even put into words how much fun this was battling with Dover slide job after slide job. I gotta thank my crew as this was a car we put together because we had to and I’m glad we had to. Chad, Andy, Chase, my aunt, Eli, and everybody that is part of this team gave me a good race-car tonight. My wife is getting induced Monday morning with our second child so their won’t be much partying tonight. Thank you to all of the fans for coming out and you packed the house like you did last year and we can’t wait to come back!”
Saldana Racing Products pole award winner, Jack Dover, lead the field to the green flag with Frank Galusha to his outside. Galusha got a great start to overtake Dover in turn 1 but Eric Lutz took a major tumble down the backstretch flipping multiple times and coming to a stop on his lid. Lutz was able to walk away but with a torn up race car.
On the restart, Galusha continued his way by taking over the top spot with Jody Rosenboom in second. Shayle Bade battled for the 3rd spot with Dover on lap 2 but couldn’t make it stick. Jason Martin threw his hat in and battled with Bade for the 4 spot on lap 5. With 5 down Galusha was the leader followed by Rosenboom, Dover, Bade, and Martin. Jody Rosenboom powered by Galusha with 7 togo but Galusha got loose and spun in turn 2 bringing out the 2nd caution of the night. With 7 laps down it was Rosenboom, Dover, Bade, Martin, and Seth Brahmer.
Rosenboom was slow on the start that allowed Dover to power by him in turn 1. They battled back and forth with slide job after slide job overtaking each other for the lead. With 10 laps down, Dover and Rosenboom continued their slide jobs on each other for the past 5 laps trading spots for the lead. With that happening, Lee Grosz, made his way to third only 3 cars behind Dover and Rosenboom. Grosz made his move on lap 15, in turn1, getting past Dover but Dover made his move again getting by Grosz in turn 3. The third caution flew as Ryan Roberts came to a stop on the front stretch.
With 8 Laps togo, Rosenboom got another great restart but Dover was right on his tail. Dover continued his slide jobs on Rosenboom but couldn’t make it stick and Jody Rosenboom captured his first 360 sprint car win between both series on the year!
